Paul Weithman
PAUL WEITHMAN
Professor Weithman works primarily in political philosophy and its history. His most recent book is Rawls, Political Liberalism and Reasonable Faith which collects some of his previously published essays on John Rawls. His book Why Political Liberalism? won the David and Elaine Spitz Prize for the best book on liberal democratic theory published in 2010. Professor Weithman chaired the Philosophy Department between 2001 and 2007. He currently directs the interdisciplinary minor in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) and co-direct the Glynn Family Honors Program. He has won a Kaneb Teaching Award, a Joyce Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and the Thomas P. Madden Award for the Outstanding Teaching of Freshmen.
