Dear colleagues,
First of all please receive our hope that you are well, wherever you are. As you all know, in the summer of 2021 we should have met in Bucharest for the 30th IVR World Congress, which was sadly postponed due to the pandemic crisis. But no virus can stop the unchained spirit. In a world of spirituality, the virus itself symbolically generates its multiple meanings and interrogations, confronting the sacrifices we all have to make with dignity, solidarity, freedom, and justice.
Next summer, in 2022, Romania is waiting for you. According to Mircea Eliade, the Romanian spirituality is part of the heritage of European culture, as a Carpathian-Balkan space where Zalmoxis and Orpheus were embodied, where Thrace, Orphic Greece, Rome and archaic Christianity met in a most fruitful way. The same Romanian author wrote about the need for planetary humanism, which would bring together all known types of humanism. Thus, your presence at this event, as representatives of a unique culture within the global concert of the world, would be an invaluable gift.
Our anniversary meeting – the 30th IVR World Congress – would also be our homage to the philosophy of law, that magical connection of law and legal reasoning with the conundrums of the human being and his understanding of the world.
For all the above reasons and more, we look forward to meeting you in Bucharest!
