CONFLICTS IN INTERNATIONAL LAW AND ADJUDICATION
CONVENOR: PAULINE WESTERMAN
The aim is to bring together theorists who study international law and courts for a discussion of conflicts at three levels: conflicts between individual legal norms, conflict between different regimes (human rights, environmental law, trade law, and so forth), and conflicts between legal orders (national, regional, and international). The workshop welcomes, in particular, contributions that contribute to our conceptual understanding of conflict, that highlight the special features of conflict in international law, and that seek to clarify the source and nature of demands on courts to secure legal coherence and harmony.
